Garth McLean is a Senior Intermediate III certified Iyengar yoga teacher based in Los Angeles, who travels worldwide to share his insight and enthusiasm for the healing potential of Iyengar Yoga.

Diagnosed with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 1996, he immediately embraced an ongoing daily practice of Iyengar yoga based on his doctor´s advice. Garth´s dedication to self-healing has enabled him to successfully manage many frightening symptoms of MS and keep his course of the condition in remission. He shares his enthusiasm for the healing potential of a dedicated yoga practice with students and teachers at every level around the world. His personal in-depth knowledge of Iyengar Yoga inspires not only those with MS and other neurological conditions, but everyone.

Garths aim is to bring balance and strength to the nervous and immune systems. He  notes, the beauty of Iyengar Yoga is that it can be adapted to suit anyones ability at whatever level to receive the benefits of a yoga practice.”

The full weekend program will be:

Friday 1 September:

10am-11.30am – Remedial class (wheelchair users welcome). £15 members , £20 non-members.

The remaining classes will be held upstairs in Maslen Hall on the first floor and so require participants to negotiate the stairs independently.

Friday 1 September:

1pm-3pm (Teachers and trainee teachers welcome – please note 1pm start). £20 members , £25 non-members.

Saturday 2 September:

10am-12:30pm (Everyone with some experience and ability to negotiate stairs welcome). £25 members , £30 non-members.

1:30pm-3:30pm (Restorative class, everyone with some experience and negotiate to climb stairs welcome). £20 members , £25 non-members.

Sunday 3 September:

10am-12pm (Everyone with some experience and ability to negotiate stairs welcome).  £20 members , £25 non-members.

1pm-3pm (Open to everyone who has attended at least one class over the weekend and with ability to negotiate the stairs). £20 members , £25 non-members.

Online booking closes the day before the event. Payment is via PayPal, but you do not need a PayPal account – choose the “Guest User” option on the payment page to pay with your debit or credit card.

Booking and cancellation policy: MDIIY members will take priority over non-members. The MDIIY will refund the cost of tickets (less a £5 administration charge) if notice of cancellation is received more than 7 days before the event. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the event will not be refunded.
